The warmth and the satisfaction of finding a family

In our quest to finding who we are and where we come from, we have come across some of the most amazing people we have discovered brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, mothers, fathers and friends. For some of us who did not even know what having a brother or sister felt like could not be any happier!

I now get to call over 100 people my brothers and sisters and yes we may just share the same surname but it’s more than that, it is this immediate connection you feel when you meet someone who shares the same lineage as you and the ability to call someone ngo bhuti or usisi…. trust me it is the greatest feeling ever. A total stranger becomes a shoulder to cry on an ear that is always willing to listen to all you sad and sometimes joyful stories.

I have come to discover who I am by hanging out with the most amazing people on earth I don’t have to look up to strangers or find role models with people I know nothing about….. I now have role models that I rub shoulders with on a day to day basis I found people who inspire, motivate me to be the best that I could be and the best part they are holding my hand the entire time...  My msenti brothers and sisters are there when the world sees nothing and they share all the glorious moments when I accomplish some of the world greatest feet’s…. I could go on and on about how amazing of a feeling it is to find a complete stranger and end up being the closest family you could ever have.

Yes all we share is a surname but trust me its more than that it’s this unknown power that comes with sharing the same blood line and knowing that you have a brother or sister that makes everything seem ok. I may not know who I am and where I come from but I do know that someday, somehow my life was engraved in the msenti lineage for a reason. And that’s why we have decided to find out where we come from and why are we the people that we are today… because behind every building is a blue print and to know why the building is still standing you need to know the blue prints and that’s who we are we are just a house standing with no knowledge of what happened for us to be still standing and before we fall apart we need to find our blue prints(the things and people that made us the msenti that we are today)
